Terms of use
Access to this website is free and requires no registration. Its content is
informational. Prices, lead times and ranges shown on these pages — including those
produced by the estimator — are indicative and do not constitute a binding offer.
The binding offer is the written estimate issued after examining the equipment.
Intellectual property
The texts, technical diagrams, photographs and design of this site belong to Santiago Alfonso Ramírez
unless stated otherwise. Equipment manufacturers' trade marks that may be mentioned belong
to their respective owners and are used purely descriptively, to identify the equipment
serviced. This workshop is not an authorised service centre for any brand and is not
affiliated with any of them.
Liability
Every effort is made to keep the published information accurate and current, but it is
not warranted to be free of errors. Santiago Alfonso Ramírez accepts no liability for damages arising from
use of the information on this site or from temporary unavailability of the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute shall be heard by the courts of the
consumer's place of residence, in accordance with applicable consumer legislation. In the
event of any discrepancy between this English version and the Spanish one, the Spanish text
prevails.
Privacy policy
First, because it surprises people
This website collects and stores no personal data. There are no forms that submit
information to a server, no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party
services loading anything.
The estimator runs entirely inside your browser. What you type into it serves only to
compose the message that you choose to send me on WhatsApp or by email. If you close
the tab without sending anything, that text disappears and never left your device.
When I do process your data
Processing begins when you write to me or leave equipment with me. At that point:
| Item | Detail |
| Controller | Santiago Alfonso Ramírez · NIF 45939598L · Avda. de Carabanchel Alto 21, 1.º 3, 1 — 28044 Madrid, España |
| Contact | hola@fixandfocuslab.com |
| What data | Name, contact details, shipping address where applicable, and information about the equipment and the fault. Any photographs of the equipment you send me. |
| Purpose | Answering your enquiry, preparing the estimate, carrying out the repair, invoicing, and handling the warranty. |
| Legal basis | Performance of a contract or of pre-contractual measures at your request (art. 6.1.b GDPR). For invoicing and accounting, compliance with a legal obligation (art. 6.1.c GDPR). |
| Retention | For the duration of the relationship and the warranty. Afterwards, commercial and tax records are kept blocked for the statutory periods: 6 years (art. 30 of the Spanish Commercial Code) and 4 years (art. 66 of the General Tax Act). |
| Recipients | The courier company, where there is a shipment. My accountant and the tax authority, as required by law. Nobody else: data is never shared for commercial purposes and never sold. |
| International transfers | None are made. |
| Automated decisions | There are none. The estimate is made by a person looking at the equipment. |
If you write to me on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is a third-party service (WhatsApp Ireland Limited, part of Meta) with its own
terms and privacy policy, which I do not control. The conversation is end-to-end encrypted,
but the metadata — that you wrote, when, and from which number — is processed by WhatsApp
under its own policy. If you'd rather not use it, write to hola@fixandfocuslab.com and we'll use email.
Your rights
By writing to hola@fixandfocuslab.com you may request access to
your data, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, or portability.
I will reply within one month of receiving your request.
I may not be able to erase the records of an invoiced repair, because the law requires me
to keep them; in that case I will explain it and delete everything I am not obliged to
retain.
If you believe your request has not been handled properly, you may complain to the
Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es), C/ Jorge Juan 6,
28001 Madrid — or to the supervisory authority of your own country of residence.
Photographs of the work
I photograph equipment before, during and after the job: it is part of the method and of
the report you receive. I do not publish those photographs without your permission.
If I ever wanted to use one on this site or on social media I will ask you expressly, and in
no case will serial numbers, names or any identifying detail appear.
Repair service terms
These terms apply to the repair, adjustment and manufacturing services provided by
Santiago Alfonso Ramírez. They are drafted in accordance with Spanish Royal Decree 58/1988 on consumer
protection in the repair of domestic appliances, and Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 on
consumer protection.
1 · Estimate
Every job carries a written estimate issued before any work is done, unless you
expressly waive it. The estimate details the fault found, the operations to be carried out,
the labour time and the amount, and is valid for 30 days.
It is prepared within 3 to 7 working days from arrival of the equipment reaching the workshop. Nothing is done
to the equipment until you accept it.
If you bring the equipment in person, the estimate is free. If you ship it and then
decline, an inspection fee of €25 applies, plus return postage; that amount
is deducted from the total if you accept the estimate.
2 · Deposit receipt
On receiving the equipment a deposit receipt is issued identifying the item, its apparent
condition, the accessories handed over and the expected delivery date. If you ship the
equipment, the sheet you print from the estimate page together with the acknowledgement I
send you fulfil that role.
3 · Cost overruns
If during the repair a fault appears that was not found at initial diagnosis and that
would take the job above the estimated amount, work stops and you are consulted before
continuing. Under no circumstances will you receive an invoice above what you accepted
without having authorised it.
4 · Lead times
Repair lead time is 2 to 30 working days depending on the fault, and the specific time for each job appears in its
estimate. A priority service is available for a €55 surcharge, reducing the lead time
to 5 working days where the nature of the fault allows; some jobs — re-cementing, for
example — have curing times that cannot be accelerated.
5 · Warranty
Every job carries a warranty of 3 months from the date the equipment is collected or delivered, covering
labour, parts and transport for the work carried out, in accordance with article 6.2 of RD 58/1988.
The warranty is transferable: if you sell the equipment within the period, the new
owner can claim on it by quoting the job reference number.
Excluded from the warranty: damage from misuse, impact or moisture occurring after
handover; faults in components other than those worked on; and equipment opened or handled
by third parties after the repair.
6 · Parts
On individual repairs, the cost of any parts to be replaced is itemised separately in the
estimate. On full services, consumables — lubricants, solvents, seals, adhesives — are
included in the price.
Custom-made parts are designed from measurements taken on your own equipment, and are
test-fitted before delivery.
7 · Equipment beyond repair
If diagnosis concludes that the equipment cannot viably be repaired, or that the cost
exceeds the value of an equivalent replacement, you are told so with the reason. In that
case only the inspection is charged, under the terms of section 1.
8 · Transport
Courier shipments travel at the sender's risk. No liability is accepted for damage, loss
or delay attributable to the carrier. Insurance for the real value of the equipment is
always recommended. For shipments from outside the EU, customs duties and import taxes are
the sender's responsibility.
9 · Collection
Once notified that the work is complete, you have three months to collect the equipment
or arrange its return. After that period without a response, storage charges may apply.
10 · Complaints
Official complaint forms are available. Complaints may be addressed to
hola@fixandfocuslab.com, and also to the consumer affairs body of your
autonomous community. In the event of any discrepancy between this English version and
the Spanish one, the Spanish text prevails.
